My yoga journey wasn’t magical. It was even painful at times. Over use of muscles that I hadn’t worked in a long time, sure that was a given.
What I am talking about are those feelings that bubble up to the surface when you relax and you want to beat them down with a sledge hammer so you don’t have to deal with them. That’s the stuff I am talking about!
Savasana or corpse pose. Perfect name for this pose. Every time I tried to do it,I felt a little piece of me was dying!
I would glance around the room and see everyone else comfortable, eyes closed relaxed and peaceful. I would roll my eyes and think these people are nuts! You people are wasting precious time laying around here. We should be moving!!!!!
It took me months, years to be able to let go. Yoga is not a quick fix, it is a practice that needs to be nurtured and cared for. Like a tiny seed. You plant the seed, water it and give light to it and watch it grow.
